What is Sweet Science Lemonade Lab?

The Sweet Science Lemonade Lab is an interactive literacy and STEAM experience created by Full STEAM Ahead. Inspired by the book, Elise's Lemonade Lab, this program introduces children to the exciting world of chemistry, measurement, and experimentation through a fun and engaging lemonade-themed science lab.

Children will explore how ingredients interact, test different combinations, and discover how science is part of everyday life. Through hands-on exploration, children learn that scientists ask questions, test ideas, and learn from their discoveries.

Learning Objectives

During the Sweet Science Lemonade Lab, students will explore:

• Basic chemistry concepts

• Measurement and ratios

• Observing and recording results 

• Experimenting with ingredients

• Problem solving through trial and error

Students will discover how science helps us understand flavors, reactions, and everyday experiences.

Inside the Lab

Participants will:

• Listen to the story, Elise's Lemonade Lab

• Conduct a hands-on lemonade experiment

• Measure and mix ingredients to test flavor combinations 

• Observe changes and discuss results

• Create their own lemonade blend
